Our club, Panama City Bassmasters, is one of the original bass fishing clubs in Panama City,  Florida. The club was officially formed in April, 1974. Although many changes have occurred with the club and its members, there is a member in the club that joined four months after its initiation.

We are a non-affiliated bass club, fishing rivers and lakes in Northwest Florida (Apalachicola, Chipola, Brothers Rivers, Lake Wimico, etc.). You can view past tournament locations, results and pictures on our Tournament Schedules/Results page.

Club meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. After handling old and new business, landings are presented and voted on to determine which one the Saturday tournament will launch from. Tournament starting positions are determined by drawing names from a hat and non-boaters are paired with the first names drawn until all are assigned. Normal hours of fishing a tournament are from safelight a.m. until 3:00 p.m..  These hours may vary depending on weather and/or water conditions. Tournament entry fees are $25.00 per person and all monies are paid out except a $2.00 per angler club fee paid to the treasurer. We do a one in five payout (a cash payout for each five participants) for the most weight and one for lunker. We have boaters and non-boater members and encourage both.

Our purpose as a bass club is to stimulate public awareness of bass fishing as a major sport, improve our skill as bass anglers through a fellowship of friendly exchanges of expert bass catching techniques and ideas, and to promote and encourage youth fishing and love for this great sport.

We enjoy each others' company,  the competition and excitement that surrounds a day of tournament fishing, and the frantic rush to the landing so we do not miss weigh-in.
